Knitting by Olivia Siegel

Well, my best friend is a knitter. And you know, I'm a knitter too. We like to get together and eat fresh crusty bread with soft buttery cheese, sip Colorado whiskey, and try not to drop a stitch. We knit. We purl. We frog. We Rav.

Do you pore over finished objects in Ravelry before choosing your materials to ensure your sweater/hat/cowl will have the perfect gauge/halo/drape? Do you spend hundreds of dollars on Shibui yarn? Woolfolk? Mad-tosh? Malabrigo? Spend hours and hours knitting an incredible garment? And then do you share that piece of craftwork with the world by quickly snapping a few phone pics? Feature your garment the way it deserves to be! In just a one hour shoot we can capture at least ten finished objects, styled, and out in the world. Contact me for pricing or questions.

Jeremiah by Olivia Siegel

Jeremiah was one of the first people I met when I moved to Asheville. An understated and humble guy, he introduced himself at a local songwriting event, after playing an emotional set of songs. Many of the folks I've met here are transplants like myself, but Jeremiah grew up in Swannanoa, just outside the city. When he chose the beautiful Bear Wallow Mountain for our photo shoot, I was thrilled, to not only photograph in a stunning new place, but for the chance to explore with a local. Jeremiah is in the midst of recording an album, so keep an ear out when it comes out this spring!

Tay & Dane by Olivia Siegel

This weekend I had the pleasure of working with Tay and Dane. They are transplants to North Carolina and live on some acreage with their dogs, chickens, and goats. They raise a few goat breeds for show and to sell to other enthusiasts. Tay is launching a farm blog, so in addition to couple photos, we made sure to capture the animals.

All Wild Lovers by Olivia Siegel

Last week I shot Jackson Emmer and his band playing some of his original music in our living room. It was an upbeat, casual shoot, featuring the excellent guitar-work of Mike Facey and the skillful trumpet and keys of Chris Rose. We did a couple takes of this song, and this goofy, playful version was my favorite. Audio by Jackson Emmer.

Melanie & Alex by Olivia Siegel

Alex and Melanie had their first date in Ouray, Colorado, so when it came time for this handsome couple from Crested Butte to tie the knot, it make perfect sense to choose this charming western town, nicknamed the "Switzerland of America." Nestled in a box canyon surrounded by mountains, sheer rock walls, the rushing Uncompahgre River, myriad waterfalls, and historic western buildings, Ouray made for a fun and adventurous destination. The reception was at the lovely Secret Garden Bed & Breakfast and guests enjoyed the Americana harmonies of Gunnison-based band, Free the Honey. Highlighting Colorado products was important to the couple, so the cocktails featured Montanya Distillers rum from Crested Butte, and the wine was from Canyon Wind Cellars in Palisade.

I can't tell you how much fun I had capturing this wedding. Mel's infectious energy and spirit, matched with Alex's strength and kindness, make this a couple you just want to be around.
